Arts for East (AFE) is a non-profit organization comprised of community members and Denver East program directors that provides strategic oversight, leadership accountability, fiscal management, and collaborative coaching for the teacher-directors who instruct and manage eight different performing arts programs at East High School:

Nearly 300 students participate annually in diverse musicals, drama, and small productions, from Sister Act to Shakespeare. Every year sets a new standard for expectations.
Speech
Students travel across the US competing in events from Harvard to Berkeley, culminating in Nationals. We are one of the most successful programs in the country.

A unique format of single and duo events, students compete in events scattered throughout the country and, with Speech, participate in Nationals. We continue to be a highly successful, nationally-recognized program.

Arts for East’s (AFE) Purpose is to elevate a comprehensive understanding of the vital role of Arts inside East by developing each student’s whole person. AFE’s teachers are maximized by being fully supported and equipped.
Passion is the desire of the heart. AFE has a passionate desire to give as many students and teachers as possible the awakening, the opportunity, the tools, and the capability to maximize themselves. “Maximize” means to clearly perceive potential, and to then pursue and obtain the fulfillment of that potential—real, tangible, and impactful—in each and every life.
